Raulerson Hospital is proud to be Okeechobee’s Community Hospital
What an exciting time this has been for Raulerson Hospital.
In September, we received national recognition from The Joint Commission, the leading regulatory and accreditation organization for hospitals. Only 405 facilities in the United States were listed as top performers in key quality measures for 2010, and Raulerson Hospital was among them! Our patients consistently tell us that, regardless of the other hospitals they’ve utilized, they have never experienced the personal level of care and attention the Raulerson Hospital staff deliver.
On November 1st we extended our commitment to health and wellness by instituting Raulerson Hospital as a smoke-free facility for employees, patients and visitors. This transition has been very smooth and we continue to support staff and patients by offering the American Lung Association’s Freedom From Smoking program at no cost. Throughout the thirty two years Raulerson Hospital has been serving the community of Okeechobee we continually update our facility, invest in new equipment, expand our medical staff and offer new procedures. During Okeechobee’s slower summer months, we began a complete renovation of our Intensive Care Unit. This critical care area has now been completely modernized and refreshed. Renovations were complete in December.
In January, our Radiology Department was named the Top Performing Outpatient Radiology Department in HCA’s Eastern Florida Division. This means Raulerson Hospital’s Radiology Department outperformed twelve other Radiology Departments in our region. We are very proud of our Radiology Department for earning this recognition. Our Radiology Department is one of the only hospitals in Florida accredited in all five imaging modalities by the American College of Radiology.
